CIRCLE ALBUM CHART

The CIRCLE Album Chart ranks physical album shipments, including mini and single albums. It is compiled from offline data provided by record labels and distributors such as Kakao M, CJ E&M Music, Genie Music, Sony Music Korea, Pony Canyon Korea, Universal Music Korea, and Warner Music Korea.

International shipments are counted to the Circle chart - for example, shipments to Target, Walmart, HMV all count.

CIRCLE DIGITAL CHART

The Gaon Digital Chart ranks best-selling non-physical, digital music sales, and is an aggregate of downloads, streaming and background music. It excludes radio airplay, and different versions of a song are listed as separate entries. It is compiled from online data provided by web-based music providers such as Genie, Melon, Mnet, Soribada, Naver Music, KakaoMusic and Bugs. There is no digital album chart because each song is a separate digital download.

DOMESTIC ONLY - only Korean streaming providers are counted for Gaon.

HANTEO

Hanteo measures the physical sales of albums at approved stores. The majority of approved sellers are in Korea and can be found in the South Korea section on our sellers page.

Generally, sellers that count to other national charts (e.g. HMV, Walmart) will not count to Hanteo.

USA

Billboard Hot 100

NATIONAL SINGLES CHART

This is the USA's premier singles chart. The chart is based on the number of equivalent units "sold". Units means 'sales' or 'streams'. The following data is counted:
- Digital sales (iTunes, BLACKPINK USA store, 7digital, Qobuz & Amazon)
- Audio streams (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TIDAL, etc)
- YouTube video streams (MV & Audio)
- Radio airplay, ranked by number of audience impressions

Premium streams have more weight than free streams - use premium services (including free trials), where possible.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. 1500 song streams from an album = 1 album sale

NATIONAL SINGLES CHART

This is the UK's official national singles chart. The chart is based on the number of equivalent units "sold". Units means 'sales' or 'streams'. The following data is counted:
- Physical sales (HMV or UK BLACKPINK store).
- Digital sales (iTunes, 7digital, Qobuz & Amazon)
- Audio streams (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music, Deezer, TIDAL, etc)

Premium streams are weighted higher. The official unit conversion rate is:

1000 weighted streams = 1 unit

The top two most popular songs from the album have their units weighted down to the same value as the average of the remaining songs - this means it's valuable to stream all songs and not to leave one out.

NATIONAL SINGLES CHART

This is the national singles chart for Australia. It counts:
- Digital sales
- Physical sales
- Audio streams

Multiple sales from one user at one time do not count, so when buying multiple copies, buy them from different locations or in different transactions.

Premium streams have a higher weight, so use a premium account for streaming where possible.
